The Key Management (KM) is an integral component of ETCS. In ETCS projects, it serves to generate and administrate cryptographic keys required to establish safe connections between ETCS vehicles and ETCS track equipment. Encryption allows the recipient of a message/mail to check whether this was sent by an authorized sender and not falsified by transmission errors or external manipulation. |
The Key Management Center (KMC) manages the keys required for this purpose, the central computer of a Key Management System (KMS). The KMC developed jointly by Scope and ISV, called KEY.connect, was planned and implemented with focus on long-term sustainable and international use. For more information click here: |
